With great reverence, we worship the wild.

King & Opal was founded by Mariah and Rich, two photographers with over a decade of experience, and just launched in 2020! We're on a creative mission to pursue what sets our souls on fire ~ artful, cool, inspiring individuals and couples, adventures into the wild beyond, and creative collaborations with other talented artists.

Our Style & Approach

Moss covered earth, embroidered lace against freckled shoulders, smokey whiskeys, starlit silence, and eye contact between lovers. Weddings and elopements invite us to be intentionally present in some of the sweetest pleasures this life offers, to unapologetically bask in the sacredness of heartfelt connection and inspired artistry. We see it as a divine honor to be trusted to do what we do as documentarians and visual storytellers. We take great pride in getting to know and serving the couples we work with. From makeup and wardrobe consulting to shot list planning ~ we've got you. We'll be as collaborative as you want us to be, to help you manifest your dreamiest visions and get the most of your photography investment.

And when it comes time to shoot, we're laid back and adaptable. We seek emotion-rich moments, beautiful light, & the enchanting details that tell your unique story with sincerity. We'll help you shed inhibitions, guiding you into real scenarios that get you laughing, moving naturally, & authentically connecting. No pressure or pretending to be someone else. You can trust that while you and your love revel in each other, we'll be discreetly capturing what will become your cherished memories.

Kind Words...

Regina & Jon

“On the day of our wedding Mariah & Rich had amazing positive energy, providing emotional support, navigating the unexpected with grace & kindness. They captured everything we wanted and didn’t know we couldn’t live without. When going through the photos I laugh and cry at the happy memories and sweet surprises of caught moments.”
