There is something so sweet about the City Hall weddings I've had the honor of photographing during the pandemic. This was the first of 2021, downtown Chicago in early February. They got married privately in the courthouse as I waited alongside a group of their dearest friends & family eager to greet them outside with a shower of flower petals & canned bubbly. After a lively celebration, we drove around the city for couple's portraits ~ braving the subzero weather when a scene caught our eyes, then racing back to the car to get warm again. Meenakshi wore her mother's jewelry as a tribute to her life & passing.

words from the couple:

"I had no idea our small low-key wedding could look so incredibly beautiful. The photos ooze so much refinement and class. As an introvert I was so nervous about wedding photography, but Mariah made the whole process so easy, fun and effortless – it was like hanging out with a friend. She was keen on understanding our vision and giving us exactly what we wanted and brought out the best of us on a snowy 30 degree day. Cannot tell you how many people compliment the photos. An absolute gem!!!"
